Since you keep saying, "PIP watered down", how would you water it down, had you been asked to do so?

You sound like those murmuring that PIP is not an out of work benefit, and thus the government should rather focus on out of work benefits!

FYI, only less than 15% of PIP claimants are in work, and working 12 hrs a week is not much different from not working at all for them, as they want to take people completely off benefits and push them to do full time jobs.

Catherine, the bill was published before the consultation ended, which completely undermines any claim of genuine consultation, that is why so many MP's are upset.

My MP’s email makes clear these meetings are to hear from constituents before the vote, not to shape the bill. That’s engagement, not consultation. It may be valuable, but it doesn’t change the fact that the government moved ahead without giving the public a real chance to influence the proposals.

So no, the meeting I am attending can’t be passed off as proper consultation. You can’t consult on something that’s already been written. Nothing said on Saturday will change the bill, but it might influence how she votes next week.

Yes and for that I am so grateful we must build them up imagine them reading negative comments they will think what's the point I really praised my mp going against cuts I literally harassed him he never once said stop emailing and I've read some mps did say that to people so I personally think they do deserve credit because imagine the great pressure from above on them not easy so toxic they have been the ones taking the brunt of it all a bit of gratitude goes a far way

"He said that you can't say that an assessor has lied, because you have no way of proving their intent. Assessors listen to what you say."

Although the word "lying" might not have been used, it has been proven countless times in tribunals that both assessors and decision makers have lied. In addition, audio recording of assessments has lately been made available for a reason.

It has never been said that anything that you cannot prove doesn't exist.

Proving it in a litigation process is one thing, but realising it yourself that your assessor has lied is another thing, as claimants clearly notice in their reports that there are serious discrepancies between what they've stated during their assessment and what the assessor has put in their report having twisted, misinterpreted, or malrecorded the claimant's statements.

In addition, assessors don't always listen. I once accompanied a claimant for their WCA. Trust me, all the assessor had asked them was to confirm their names and DOB and nothing else whatsoever, and the whole session lasted less than 20 minutes, and in less than a month the claimant was rejected. Guess what - a few months later, the very same claimant got accepted and was awarded a LCWRA by a tribunal.

From what I can see, most post's disagree with the reforms. My question is, how would you reform this sickness and benefit issue? Is it bloated? Is the bill getting too much and where.

"Payroll vote" is what they call it. Nothing to do with getting paid or otherwise. It is a step towards a junior ministerial position, and career minded MPs will be very reluctant to relinquish it.

You said so yourself, they have to resign to vote against the government, just like that female whip did the other day.

Currently I am in receipt of UC with LCWRA and PIP at the standard rate, all this is so stressful I’m being reviewed for PIP my forms had to be returned in August last year and am still waiting for the assessment

I think money could be saved by going back to a DLA type of paper assessment. Saving money on assessments. Conditions that the nhs state are lifelong should be exempt from further assessment, again saving money . The problem isn’t us it’s the system. They can’t take money from a million people cos a few may be fraudulent when there’s less than 1% fraud in pip

with the BBC sharing things like this no wonder the public are misinformed. The most biased news channel I have ever seen. Such a non story if he doesn’t need it why claim it?

Hopefully it’ll be paper based as I’ve heard of more of them . My pip forms on its way to me 😩. I don’t know if it’s the 89 page version or the short one

I for one think they should return to much simpler system of DLA, it was fairer.
