Hope I'm in right place.
I had my pip assessment yesterday at home and assessor was a no show.Found out she went to wrong house, all our estate have green doors, she managed to knock on a red one.I have also been told by Capita my claim is closed as I failed to attend.Have emailed photo of my house to them so they can see the mistake but they are unwilling to rebook appointment.Told Dwp but they won't comment until they hear from Capita. Can they do this as It was not my error but theirs?

I had the same problem and received no help from Capita or DWP until I asked my MP to help. Hope you have a good MP because it really does make a difference. It is strange that we are asked for a contact number but the assessors do not always make the effort to call for directions? I do hope you can get some help with this and that you do get another appointment. T

At the moment they are refusing but C.A.B.are going to call them on my behalf.

That will hopefully help. If you are able to it is still worth sending an email to your MP. Hopefully I enough complaints are put through thins will improve. I really hope you manage to get another appointment and a kind assessor. X

Hi Debsidoo - we've answered this on your other post. The DWP should get in touch and give you a chance to explain what happened. You need to wait for Capita to get in touch with the DWP and give them the information, then DWP should contact you again. It is not Capita who get to close your claim - that is a DWP decision, and hopefully you can stop that from happening, once you are given a chance to explain by DWP.
