Is PIP backdated to application date, assessment date, or date I submitted my MR?

Hi everyone,
I had my PIP appeal today and at the end the representative from the DWP advised they increase my points so I’m hopeful that I may win my appeal. I just wondered, if I have been successful, how far back the PIP would be backdated? Is it to the first application date, assessment or when I submitted for mandatory reconsideration? I’d be really grateful if anyone can advise so I know what to expect, although I’m also trying not to get my hopes up!

If this appeal is about the first decision on your claim then the revised award (if made) will be backdated to the start date.0
