God, I'm so sorry. Please keep in contact with this forum, there are people that care about you. People and organisations will fight this ever damn step. Please, please remember that a green paper is a govt wishlist - it is NOT the law. That won't happen for a while. There are legal steps the govt has to take for this to become law and it's not quick. Not even a majority govt can ram legislation throuh in a few months. There are debates, readings and votes in parliment - they can't skip this. No matter what.

this is what worries me . Apart from care homes and terminally ill patients at home how many are provided with professional carers ? Think how many wouldn’t qualify. But then it would mean hardly anyone getting carers and having to work. The local council would have to provide a lot more support and would not be able to .

I know it's hard summerlove, but please don't give up or wave goodbye to what you are and rightly so entitled to.

There's always some disgusting vile ulterior motives behind all this kind of mass fear mongering.
I think they should all be sent to fight for the wars they so desperately want to perpetuate (for money)themselves, and leave disabled people's money, who they want to use to pay for it alone.

From what I read on Benefits & Work website it's not even legal due to the consultation thing again, I only understood some parts of it, but if it's true why aren't legal people and Ellen Clifford etc taking them back to court, if only to slow them down and show them we won't accept their ridiculous proposals?

I will be mentioning it as well in my responses to the Green Paper.

MP's had the same conversation in 2015! Full employment no less!
(House of Commons Library - briefing paper) 32 The aims of ten years of welfare reform (2010-2020)
Section 15 of the Welfare Reform and Work Act 2016 amended the Welfare Reform Act 2007 to remove provision for the payment of the WRAC, in both contributory and income-related ESA. Section16 of the 2016 Act made equivalent provision for Universal Credit. Removal of the WRAC was justified on the basis that it would improve incentives for people to prepare to enter the labour market. In his Summer Budget 2015 speech the Chancellor referred to the “perverse incentive” whereby ESA claimants in the WRAG received more money than claimants of Jobseeker’s Allowance “but get nothing like the help to find suitable employment.” The Chancellor noted that while the JSA caseload had fallen by 700,000 since 2010, over the same period the numbers on incapacity benefits including ESA had fallen by just 90,000, despite 61% of claimants in the WRAG saying they wanted to work. The Budget documents expand that: Increasing employment levels amongst people with disabilities and health conditions are a key part of the government’s aim to achieve full employment. The current system creates a financial incentive to claim sickness benefits over Jobseeker’s Allowance. From April 2017, new claimants of Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) who are placed in the Work-Related Activity Group will therefore receive the same rate as those claiming Jobseeker’s Allowance, alongside additional support to help them take steps back to work.

I’m sure they are but need to go through it all

I've just read online that some of the benefit changes are going through without consultation. Has anyone else heard this? This was from the MS Society.
"The government is also forcing through its changes to PIP and the WCA without consulting on them. It's unacceptable they're denying disabled people their say on changes which would have a significant impact on their lives.22 hours ago"

It says in the Green Paper they are restarting them. I have the same fear of being found LCW. It is just playing on my mind constantly.

You are welcome, no, I do not have a 4 but feel I should have. I will wait for a while to see what else is said/written by the Government before I delve in any deeper. Sorry, I have not looked at LCWRA but understand that PIP will be used in any assessments rather than separately, I stand to be corrected.

I have enhanced for both and have met 4pts criteria on 2 descriptors for daily living.
But I'm due for review in November 2026, just as these pip changes come in.
Things have got worse for me since my last review in 2023, I spoke to dwp when I was forced to migrate to uc , they told me im also due a reassessment next April for my esa /uc...so reassessed at the point of change for both benefits.
To say I'm terrified is an understatement, however if I am assessed proper and fairly, I should be put into the severe category with no reassessment required. But I won't hold my breath.
I always expect the worst when it comes to the dwp and assessments.
But I will be ready , with my medical evidence.

Thanks secretsquirrel, what's a dynamic duo? Are they on YouTube or something?

Thank You Jen, honestly, you guys are amazing I've had two lovely responses and I feel better, I just hope that there are drastic changes made, it's so cruel , it's surreal

Forgive me Jen...but I thought much if these proposals can be ushered through without much legal challenge .
I'm hoping I'm wrong on that.

Thanks so much Holly. X

The irony is that most people - regardless of ability - refuse to join the army because they know this country is not worth fighting for. Especially young people.
Why should young people fight for Britain when Britain treats them like absolute ****? Not to mention killing so many of their peers via austerity, including these cuts. Of course more young people are on benefits when they have no future.
And that's before considering Britain's foreign policy has directly caused many of the issues in the world today (Israeli apartheid, Chagos Islands dispute, Jammu & Kashmir Dispute, to name a few).

I wrote to reeves Kendall Timms Starmer . I told them that although they don’t care about the sick and disabled they will care about our votes in future and that they mentioning there’s over 2 million sick people well that a lot of votes they’ll ve losing. Starmer won’t care , he has no love for this country so he’ll follow Blair. But the back benchers they’re the ones . They’ve waited all this time and with Starmer will be a one time government . They’re the ones we all need to contact even if not our MP. They’re need to know we aren’t going to vote for starmer reeves Kendall rayner . Rayner was interviewed and was on our side. When Kendall was talking about saving money through cuts there was rayner agreeing.

yes it’s dynamic duo uk . He’s quite good about benefits. It was in the comments before. Someone, a troll , mentioned it and the YouTuber said he saw that the out emphasise on professional carers providing washing and toilet needs. We need this clarified as if it is true no one else is talking about it . Hopefully it’s all rubbish as it has implications for carers allowance etc

Thanks secretsquirrel, i will have a look at that.
At this point it wouldn't surprise me if it is indeed true, and is then brought in as part of the new pip criteria.
It's going to be tough to get ...even for the most severely disabled and vulnerable.
The cruelty is just incomprehensible.....
I'm trying to calm down but I can't.
