Hi. Thanks for reply. I have replied to their paper. But I don't think that is going to matter as i think this was one of the things that was going ahead without consultation? My problem is I have my own bills etc to pay I am not supported by my partner. But they would take his salary into consideration which I see none of and I will then get no money. I'm sure there are many people like me. It would leave me with no options this .

Yes. As time passes and the impacts become clearer we'll want to work through the consultation again. It's not something to be rushed. It takes careful thought. I'd advise people to make a clear case rather than angry or sarcastic comments.

Can I just say I wouldn't worry as you have an award that doesnt end for atleast 8 years and so much could have changed by then, Labour have said they wont reassess until the award time so there wont be mass reassessments when or if the new points system get put in place.

I’m in NI & like many others, get 9 daily living points but only 3 in any one descriptor. I have an ongoing award due for a light touch review after 10 years ( in 2027 ). So it looks like that will now be a full review with the possibility of loosing daily living. I have realised though, that I haven’t updated PIP about 2 more conditions which I’ve been diagnosed with in the time since I had my rate awarded. They do impact the amount of care & support I need. So do I tell them ASAP & trigger a review or let it run til we see what makes it through to legislation?

Sadly far to many people cannot see the dangers that are in front of them until it hits them in the face!

What I mean is people will complain about people on sickness as theres a thought that people who are sick and ill and living the life of luxury so they want it stopped not realising that not only are most people who are sick not living lifes of luxury and there may also come a time when they need help and it wont be there for them which could leads to all sorts of financial difficulties!

Its not just this example its other such as having one bad policeman makes them all bad or one bad kid in a big family makes that family bad! Most of us will probably know people that think like that as there are far to many narrow minded blinkered people in the UK now!

IMO whats really happening more and more is literal class warfare between the mid to lower classes, call it conspiritorial if you like but if you open your eyes just a little more you may see divides not getting smaller but growing bigger as each generation goes by.

The Society held an online meeting earlier.

There's only 340 members so its small but 310 have said they will never vote labour again.

Its somewhat ironic Ed Miliband has given an interview to the Guardian and the headline is talking about betrayal of the people by the Tories, The entire point Ed Labour was elected was partly to restore trust they have fallen into the same trap the libdems did in 2010. This is something they will not recover from and will cost them a 2nd term. There are so many seats out there with such tiny majorities as for the damage in Scotland.

Todays borrowing figures just confirm yet again why Reeves is just a bad chancellor.

Borrowing higher the expected the figures are going the wrong way, Its Austerity

sooner or later one of the offices that release the state of the economy are going to just call it out.

But remember the projected figures for claimants losing pip is 100s of thousands or even over a million that I’ve read . All ppl with medical diagnoses. I’m not saying no one finds a way to con the system but a million ? IMO the government are using the few who aren’t entitled to pip as an excuse to penalise us all . Remember once they charge the points or the descriptors we are then classed as not sick or disabled enough not because we are cured but because labour have moved the goal posts . Over night we go from disabled to someone not disabled enough for pip. I’m not even convinced they’re doing it just for the money . I believe they enjoy hurting the weak and vulnerable. Anyone that has no use to society , survival of the fittest .

This all day long, I added the points up and I think its 21 points could be scored in the 10 descriptors but still not make you eligible for PIP Daily living but get 4 on one descriptor and you do! Its so stupid they cannot have thought this through surely?

I forgot to add that you need to get another 4 points on top of that 4 points in one descriptor, my bad!

Crazy isn't it and yet MPs among so many others are agreeing with this!

Hi all, just clarifying that the general consensus surrounding those of us on NS ESA (support group) is that we are still subject to the current WCA up until 2028?
My award letter doesn’t state an end date and it was only awarded last month.
Really hoping the pushback and pressure generated from this green paper results in an honouring of current claimants given the wording of “for new people claiming”, or that it’s just very watered down :(

You are absolutely right, @Maggie37: the list just keeps growing. There seems to be no logic to these decisions at all. If they truly cared about disabled people, they wouldn’t even consider cutting essential support as a way to fix the economy. Taking away money that disabled people rely on isn’t just unfair….it’s completely unjustifiable.

The DWP consultations just keep getting worse and worse, the things highlighted in the b&w article show that they havent learnt anything from the court defeat, they will likely be banking that no one will challenge it in court.

Also the warning that the law for the 4 point change might be in place by end of July this year even if its not kicking in until Nov 2026.

This. Everyone gets reviewed on PIP, unlike ESA its not an ongoing award as standard. So it basically affects any review after Nov 2026, whenever that may be. For me it will be probably 2028, potentially 2029 if back logs are still bad.

I am not convinced by that message they have even read the green paper properly.

Resumption of WCA's is before the 2 year mark as is the 4 point change to PIP. They have an opinion that challenging the new consultation "might" delay both of these things but are not even sure if it will be challenged.

They seem to think the only thing happening in that time frame is the shift to face to face assessments.

Their post needs more details or a follow up to clarify these things.

@noonebelieves yet, we have Starmer banging on about their actions being 'morally correct'.

What would be morally correct would be removing Rachel From Accounts as Chancellor, and replacing her with someone who understands governing a country does not operate like balancing a family's budget.

I used to believe Gideon Osborne (towel-folder extraordinaire) was the worst Chancellor I would see in my lifetime.

    I was wrong.

I've said before, when I watched Kendall with Michael Portillo (as experts sharing their wisdom on a weekly basis) on the Andrew Neil Show she really, REALLY consistently came across as much more right-wing than either Portillo or Neil.

If even I could see that in her, it means Starmer chose her specifically for the role to which she finds herself over-promoted.
