People talking about Labour u-turning, but I remember pre election I didnt get any such vibes from them.
I remember all of the following pre election.
Kendall appointment, she is a red Tory, one of the most extreme right of the party, and has never believed in support without work. Voted in favour of Osborne cuts.
Kendall constantly tweeting, get Britain working, and saying its the key of Labour's plans for growth.
Kendall ignoring her disabled constituents, ghosting them.
Reeve telling parliament she will overhaul WCA to make large cuts.
Keir saying again and again they are the party for "working people".
Reeve telling parliament she will provide rigorous fiscal rules and keep spending down.
Labour either abstained or voted in favour of Tory plans to cut benefits.
Reeve was already known for her anti social security stance a decade ago.
The removal of a disability advocate from shadow DWP position.
Labour when last in power shown their colours, they introduced both ESA and LHA. ESA originally was 3-36 months reassessment. Stated intention to kick a million sick people out of the safety net.
The huge attack on PIP was not in their manifesto, so one could argue thats a bit of a surprise, but I think the overall targeting of the sick isnt a surprise. However there was so much anger towards the Tories, I think people out of shear hope, told themselves Labour were not capable of such actions.
The sad thing is, the alternative wasnt really any better, the Tories already had their own ESA/LCWRA plans set to be carried out starting 2025 (very quickly), they had the same health top up plan by end of decade, there was a PIP consultation with all sorts of nasty proposals although nothing was announced pre election. On the LCWRA side, it wasnt quite as bad as the Tories were not planning to freeze/half LCWRA rate, they also added assurance existing LCWRA would never be assessed again. Given we have a 2 party political system it was a lose/lose at the election.5 -
From Chris Smyth (an editor at The Times) on twitter, re the apparent new plans:
So it applies to new claimants and they will have their LCWRA (which is already just half of current claimants’ LCWRA) frozen.
I wonder if MPs salaries will be frozen too?

At this point I am convinced they are 'trying to kill us all off'....seriously !
If they tax the super rich, and all the oil and tech companies etc , then they'd have more than enough to fill their 'imaginary black hole'.
I feel physically sick about it all and this week I've hit rock bottom with crohns and lupus flares, no doubt brought on by stress because of all this.
I even collapsed yesterday, ended up losing my phone.....I'm wrecked, as we all are !
I'm Sick of us all being vilified and punished for being sick and disabled.
This is so so wrong, we are all vulnerable and they just keep kicking us ......

Imo they want us all DEAD !!!!!!
Every day we are all constantly attacked.
Honestly, how much more are we supposed to take ?

Yogi, hang on in there my friend.
I think after tomorrow we may have more people and organisations 'coming to our aid' and fighting our corner.
BTW thankyou for your kind comment. Xx

Hi Danny, I think it's only the pip that changes in 2026....and the lcwra in 2028.

Please look after yourself. I'm always being told by my MH team to practice self-care. I'm not very good at it. I never thought a Labour government would've done this. x

I truly wish he was my MP…..such a passionate man! Thanks for sharing @Summerlove

seeing as Rachel from accounts is determined to wreck the economy and come to us disabled to bail her out each time at what point will she be told that this cannot be legal . You surely can’t leave millions of ppl to starve . In court how will they justify this ? They can hardly say they were stopping fraud in the system. How can a million ppl be fraudulently claiming to be sick or disabled and the NHS not realise .

what i see in government are actacing disabled people and poor people. if we ask government to give us right for disabled and poor working class people the government say we will looking to it the government saying we need to save taxpayer money who pay tax? in this 3 categories … 1 super rich….. 2 middle class…… 3 poor class ?? i will leave conversation here for now people can think about it and i will continue tomorrow🙂

Thankyou Yogi, you take care of yourself too. We need to be kind to ourselves, especially during times like this. X

Jeremy Corbyn blasts Labour over austerity measures. I wish he'd come back.

it’s impossible to think they can get away with it and not lose in court or the echr. Both Stu and this other channel creator said they’ll be going against the equality act . Starmer really needs to sack her . I just watched Jeremy Corbyn on sky news and he said Labour MPs have told him they’re not happy. Apparently they’re now talking to him as they’re not happy with the government. The interviewer asked if Keir is a chameleon and he said there’s a few of them in parliament.

Well said summerlove, these cruel, greedy, uncaring, immoral fools are not Labour.
The Labour Party I was once proud to vote for and be a member of are now long gone, unfortunately.
Just feeling at a loss with it all.....I'm hoping the '**** will ht the fan tomorrow' after Rachel thieves statement, and hoping we have more MP'S and organisations 'coming to our aid', and 'fighting our corner '.
I've been very disappointed with the lack, of outrage/retaliation from MP'S and disability charities.
The only ones who have really stood for us have been, John mcdonnell, Jeremy corbyn and Diane abbot and a couple of others.

Thanks for this ROSS, will give it a watch. I just wish these 'upset MP'S' would 'speak up'.
We've only had a handful of MP'S speak up, it's disgraceful.

Clive Lewis MP on Sky News was awesome too 👏

I dug this out. Angela Raynor helped get the WRAC removed for LCW claimants so be in no doubt she understands all of this in 2025.

Welfare Reform and Work Bill 2015-16had its Third Reading in the House of Lords on 9 February, and the Commons is due to consider Lords amendments on 23 February. The Government suffered a second defeat at Report on 27 January.
