If this is true it’s disgusting if they vote for cuts to disability to pay for scrapping the 2 child limit . Obviously disabled people don’t matter to them as we apparently don’t contribute to the economy and society.

I've been at peace with my disability for years now. I was born with Cerebral Palsy and Hydrocephalus. I think even though you're born with a disability, you still go through a period of grief for the live you could've had. I am greatful of PIP and the opportunities that it has given me, but it's things like this that makes me feel that i'm going backwards and i wish i didn't have to claim PIP as i feel shame. Why should i be made to feel ashamed for getting a bit of money that helps me have my independence.
The relentless demonisation is too much. Sick of it!

It's really hard not to be pessimistic, I apologise for being a pessimist but there's just something about this saga which tells me that Labour will figuratively die on the hill of cutting benefits.
They will not stop at this even if it costs them electorally which goes to show are MP's representing constituents or big money donors and corporations?
That this is beyond austerity, this is beyond moral missions, this is a cruel, callous and cold perverted crusade against on the weakest in society.
Britain has no bloody right to lecture other countries about right from wrong, we're a country which seeks to persecute the disabled and incapacitated for the crime of being disabled and incapacitated and NO OTHER COUNTRY in Europe does this ****, nowhere else, just here and it gets me so angry to think about this.

We have a disability discrimination act in this country pity the evil in government think it's okay to not just pick on us but I feel like I've done 12 rounds with Tyson Fury 😓

You’re right . It was bad enough being treated like this but now hearing how Starmer and even Farage are talking about helping the pensioners ( which I agree with) and scrapping the 2 child limit in order to get MPs on side to vote fir disability cuts . Why are we less worthy ? They claim they’ll have to stop the spiralling benefits bill by making cuts then happy to scrap the 2 child limit so it counteracts any savings made from disability cuts. It feels like it’s anything to leave us destitute.

Oh wow, in one way reform are doing us a favour by scaring labour but I just read reform are saying they’ll reinstate the WFA and scrap the 2 child limit. Which is why starmers now saying they’ll reinstate same apparently. It feels as though as long as no other party cares about us Labour don’t have to . What a sick society this is . I watched silver fox the other day and he said in his opinion Rayner knows labours finished but she wants the chance to be PM before the next election.

I agree , I feel as though we are being used as bargaining chips. Which party can outdo the other in their bad treatment of us and it seems acceptable. No party is trying to put our minds at rest .

Yes, the government thinks far more of the elderly and those with kids than he does of the disabled.
They have backed down on the £300 winter fuel payments to 10 million OAP's and also the 2 child cap and, of course Farage has said that he will do the same, if he gets in at the next general election !!
Farage has already said (and repeated several times) that he strongly supports cuts to benefits for disabled individuals……

I am actually really trying hard to find any information saying the new pip proposals would be lawful, they all say they would probably be discriminatory and open to legal challenges.
Could this be discriminatory?
Yes, potentially, under the Equality Act 2010 and Human Rights Act 1998:
- Indirect discrimination: If a rule disproportionately disadvantages certain groups (e.g. people with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, or fluctuating conditions), even if it applies to everyone equally.
- Failure to make reasonable adjustments: If the rule doesn't account for the way certain impairments affect people across several activities but not severely in one, this could be legally problematic.
- Article 14 ECHR (non-discrimination) combined with Article 1 of Protocol 1 (protection of property/benefits) could also be cited in a legal challenge.
