If anyone is trying to lose weight or just be more healthy with eating or physical activity this is the place to discuss it!!
I have been trying to lose weight for 5 weeks now. Lost 12 pounds. I am very happy.
Apologies if this thread is a trigger for anyone. I assume the title is enough that people won't click on it if it's a trigger but apologies if not.

This is my 5th week @66Mustang I'm very tempted to give in to something nice. But I'm not going to. 1 because I want my blood sugers to have a massive improvement on next bloods. 2 because I want to do this.1

@66Mustang
Thanks for starting this thread, and I apologise if I caused upset to anyone on the other thread speaking about me trying to loose weight.2 -
Good work on losing the 12 pounds @66Mustang and also to everyone else on here who are achieving their goals.
I've been doing weight lifting for a week or so now. Just started walking recently too. 4 mile and a bit each day.
I'm just over 16 stone trying to get down to 14. One step at a time though 😁👍2 -
Thanks all for the comments, and support.
@life this is maybe a stupid question...does weight lifting make you lose weight? I thought people did it to build muscle and get stronger? I never thought of it as a way to lose weight but maybe that was a silly thing to think1 -
Morning all I’m just off my walk soon.

@66Mustang lol I guess you can lose weight doing like squats and leg exercises but I do it for strength and muscle gain. Bench press, shoulder, biceps that kinda stuff. I'm hoping the walks will build muscle on my legs because I never liked leg day 😂1

@Sandy_123
Thank you but I can be sensitive and overthink 🤯😂2 -
@life ha ha my legs are the one area where I do have a bit of muscle and not pure fat because I walk so much
@Sandy_123 a dog helps a lot, as sometimes you don't want to go but you have to, then when you are out you are glad you went1 -
I might ask a neighbour if I can walk there's just hope it don't run off3
-
Thanks @Lou67 and @Sandy_123 👍👍
So I guess I will build muscle while walking. Can't go wrong with walking to lose weight, get fit and healthy. Great benefits 👍3 -
Walking is good we have a nature reserve near by but I wouldn't go alone. Swimming is great too.1

Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight.
My wife struggles and her diet is extremely healthy compared to mine. Salads, fruit ... all the good stuff Plus she gets her 10,000 steps in but still struggles to 'maintain'
Years of medication for kidney disease (nephrotic syndrome) haven't helped. Steroids, transplant tablets etc
There's so many medications that can make weight loss difficult, especially the anti-depressants
I wish I could walk more but for heart more than weight. I actually did go for one the other night down the park ... and ended up flat on my face after getting taken out by 2 Dachshunds. My wife was too busy peeing herself to help. Along with the other 20 or so witnesses. Street cred' totally gone

I never realised Dachshunds were so strong
Still haven't forgiven my wife for the hysterical laughter
I held my head up in dignity ... she had to walk cross legged ...
Congratulations on the 8 + pounds ... no mean feat.
I remember when I went from 15 stone to 12 ... it was easy to go up, but not down
Does anyone use Weightwatchers or slimming World ?1 -
No I'm just cutting out the c r a p upped the protein.
Its great you can see the funny side of things @WelshBlue you seem like a great person3 -
@Sandy_123
Thats a great loss well done.
@WelshBlue
I hope you didn’t hurt yourself to much, my neighbour is watching her daughters Dachshund just now, we have been taking him out on our walks, he’s full off beans lol
I was referred to slimming world by weight management last week, I haven’t phoned yet, not sure if I will I’m just cutting out the rubbish at night and going for walks.2
