I'm not sure about these groups, I think there is 1 rule with weight loss: eat less calories than you spend.
Not intending to state the obvious but these groups don't have a magic fix.
I think I would only go to them for peer support, but I am getting that from this forum so no need.3 -
I get my ideas of different recipes from Google n also diabetes UK if anyone is diabetic. I'm so hoping my blood sugars come down alot on next bloods. It should. Plus I don't refer it to dieting for me its healthy eating2

@Sandy_123 ... thanks. I have my moments ... on the whole though, you've got to keep laffing, there's enough things to grind us down.
@Lou67 ... Dachshunds are on my danger list now, forget about Rottweillers
Best thing, is one was only a pup ... Olive her name was - beautiful markings was my first thought as I was eye to eye with her. Then my wife's witches cackle kicked in
@66Mustang ... always here mate
I asked about WW and SW as I've seen my wife use both more than once and was not impressed.
My daughters boyfriend is a Physical Trainer/ Dietician and hates them because he thinks they're unhealthy long term
It seems like you folks have the right idea/ mindset anyways without needing to spend silly money for the 'consultant' to guilt-trip youse when you don't meet 'target'. It used to really get my wife down
Good luck to you all moving on and don't forget you deserve a treat now and again, be it sweet or savoury2 -
I havnt given up crisps that's 1 thing that's staying put lol1

@Sandy_123
I have been buying the walkers French fries for months they're only 78 calories, I still have a packet at night.2 -
losing weight or gaining weight-its an up and down battle to get to where you want to be.ive been trying to lose weight for a long long time,i had been in special olympics for years and i lost no weight, im on more than 6 prescribed medications that cause weight gain,my spinal/spinal nerve injurys and severe periphral neuropathy in all my limbs/feet/hands means i cant do special olympics anymore unless i happen to fall upon a group close by who do boccia.i dont eat more than once a day out of routine,so its not that im eating lots of rubbish.i also drink mainly sugar free drinks instead of the full sugared stuff as im diabetic type 2 now and ive since found an active wheelchair self powering treadmill called the invictus active its around £1000 inc the weights for pulling against the chair (i forget what thats called) and im waitingg till i hopefuly get moved sometime soon and ill see if ive got enough savings left and enough space to put one down, though ive checked it out a lot and some people just use it in the garden.worth a look if anyone else is an active wheelchair user who feels they need upper strengrh or weight loss.1

@CATP that is very helpful to alot of members. Could you look for a second hand one or reconditioned to keep cost down.
I know weight loss is very hard for some people. I have about 3 diseases that hold the weight. Eating healthier seems to be working for me so far. Good luck in your move1 -
My will power being tested tonight, kids are here and so are lots of goodies. Argh. Still stuck with my strawberries yogurt n nuts, just2

I have been getting distracted but today I'm getting back on track with my personal trainer.1
-
Be nice to have a personal trainer I'd need one who specialises in spine damage.1
-
Well done everyone its great that we are all trying that’s all we can do.
@CATP
Good luck I hope you don’t have too long waiting on a move, then hopefully you can use your equipment better.And I think it’s amazing you only eat once a day, I could never cope with that.
@Sandy_123
Oh well done for not giving in when the kids are there, you’re doing so good.
@durhamjaide2001
Thats great you have a personal trainer, enjoy getting back into it today.
Take care everyone. ❤️1 -
For a low fat treat my wife uses sugar free jelly ... substitutes some of the water for a low fat yoghurt of her choosing give it a good mix and puts in frozen fruits ... stick in the fridge to set
Very refreshing and takes away the sweet cravings2 -
I hate jelly even won't eat haribo lol that's a point I could have jelly sweets in for them1

Does anyone else drink pepsi max instead of normal pepsi? I was substituting it because normal pepsi is high in sugar. I then found out it had something called aspartame in it thats linked to cancer.
I used to drink a big bottle a day thinking it was a good replacement.
Anyone have any fizzy drinks that don't have aspartame or high sugar (I know it's a long shot as most drinks have either one in them).
Ps. Keep up the good work everyone 💪👍1 -
Good luck to all those on the weight loss plan at the moment! I also joined that club and after my weigh on Saturday i've now hit a 2st 2Ib loss. Still a long way to go but i'm getting their slowly.I have a busy few months planned, with my granddaughters first birthday, my eldest daughters hen night and 2 days, 2 week holiday and then a wedding after that. Determined to lose more weight for my long awaited holiday!life said:Does anyone else drink pepsi max instead of normal pepsi? I was substituting it because normal pepsi is high in sugar. Yes, i've drank if for several years. My opinion is, if you stop doing everything they advise you not to do then very likely you won't eat, drink or do anything in life.I was a smoker for 30+ years and quit that about 3.5 years ago. I won't be giving up my pepsi max anytime soon.2 -
That's true poppy. I'll cut back on it but I'll continue drinking it.
Wow 2st 2lb that's brilliant 👍
I was 16 st 3lb when I last checked near a week ago hoping I'm 16st or under when I next check (wishful thinking lol).1 -
For me, Pepsi Max is the only drink that can quench my thirst. I only drink Tea or Water other than this. I’m not personally dieting but good luck to everyone who is!1

Hi everyone, sorry I have been away. Nice to see lots of activity in this thread.
Poppy - well done losing over 2 stones. That is a fantastic achievement.
To Poppy and @life I drink Pepsi Max as well. I agree with Poppy that if you stopped doing anything based on advice you would just sit in a bubble doing nothing. And someone would then advise you to stop sitting for too long lol.

Well done poppy that's a great loss
I don't do fizzy drinks mainly because I'm diabetic and I don't like the taste of artificial sweetners
