Uc Migration notice

I’m my son’s appointee and had to take his documents to job centre when I claimed UC for him. He came with me but was told as I’m his appointee he didn’t have to be there.

We have put a message on his journal. See what they come back with.

I’m not sure why he was asked to go anyway as he provided all identity details online. Passport, bank details, NI number and another form of id can’t think what it was now but he provided all the things that they are asking for at interview.

They said if our son doesn’t attend then it’ll have to be a home visit

Absolutely disgusting! He has an appointee for a reason!

My son was more anxious of a home visit , a stranger coming into his space

As I predicted then. This must be a new rule, though clearly not thought through by whoever decided it. 🙁

I wonder if it’s a new rule or someone spouting rubbish as they think they are right. This happens all too much sadly.
1 -
It's not a new rule. Many work coaches and service centre staff do not have a clue what they are doing or what they are talking about.

I just can't see it being a coincidence when exactly the same thing is happening in different areas at the same time.
If it's not a new rule then it could be a poorly written bulletin that's been circulated around the country by some high level DWP staff.
It's clearly more than just one person making up rubbish at one Job Centre though. That's why we need to work out exactly where it's coming from.

You'll be very surprised how many of them get the same thing wrong all the time. I've seen many thread here over the years where it's the same things all the time. They used to blame it on poorly trained staff.. 🙄

Do you know how they work the rent out please?
our rent is £149.64 a week and we receive full housing benefit, in our UC they pay £648.44 which we have to give to our landlord because they said they haven’t received the form from the landlord that they asked for but landlord has evidence it was done via the portal on 11/6/24. So frustrating.0 -
I think they’ve worked it out over 52 weeks instead of the 53 weeks for this year?
0 -
I just looked up that they don’t recognise the 53 weeks therefore we have to pay a months rents in the year ourselves. More saving to do.

For housing element it's worked out as a monthly figure and not weekly. Weekly amounts apply to housing benefit only.

Thank you 🙂
How are you Poppy?

You're welcome. I'm not too bad thank you. How about yourself? Sorry, been a busy day today and not spent much time online.

glad you aren’t too bad, I’m not too bad either thank you.
Hope it’s been a good day for you 🙂

hello hope you are ok.
If my sons Fit note ends on Sunday 6th October , when should I request a new one?
Thank you :)
0 -
I'm ok thank you, I hope you are too. You need to make sure you have the fit note ready for the 7th October. Gaps in the fit notes can affect when the extra money is paid from if he's found to have LCWRA.
It would be worth trying to get a longer fit note and then it will be less stressful.
