HI and welcome,It will depend what ESA you're claiming. If it's Income related then your pension will be counted as income £1 for £1.If it's Contributions based then anything under £85 per week is disregarded. For anything over this amount then you will lose 50p for every £1 over that amount.If it's Contributions based with an income related top up then you will lose all or part of that top up.Also if you receive a lump sum this will affect any means tested benefits you claim, if the lump sum is over £6,000 you will lose £ for every £250 over that amount. Anything over £16,000 and you won't be entitled to any means tested benefits.Either way, you need to report all changes to DWP and also to your local council if you receive a lump sum that brings your savings over the above amounts.I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please.
