So I thought I replied but can't see it anywhere (sorry if this is a duplicate).

I'll try to help -but I'm not an expert or anything like that. I was similar that when I looked over my PIP points yesterday there was stuff I should've got points for but didn't but at the time I was so releaved and stress that I actually got PIP I didn't pay attension to the points etc. But I'll try to give what advice I can.

1. Go check out Charlie Anderson on YouTube, she explains PIP and the point system well. A lot of PIP is about understanding what they are actually asking and what infomation you put translates into points. She gets PIP herself and gets it for other people with a very, very high success rate. She also helps tribunals etc. A lot of it is about de-coding the language and what does/doesn't get PIP points
2. A lot of people (myself included) put on PIP what they can't do or struggle to do and that's fine but we're not so good at explaing in details - and I mean in mind numbing, explicit, fine tooth comb detail how it impacts us daily, hourly. If we can't do or struggle to do something spell out what that means and how it impacts you. Or if you do something. Tell them about your daily reality - physically, emotionally, mentally.
3. Be explict and blunt as hell. A lot (again myself) don't go into detail about embaressing things like personal care. This is not a place for suffering in silence, for maintaining your dignity. I didn't put things on PIp that I should have - I don't tell the GP because it's embaressing. Go into as much detail as you can. You can use extra pages for each section
4. download on-line or request a copy of your GP notes (someone else on the forum suggested this) and attach them all to your renewal form.
5. Anyone that helps you in your disability (friends, family, carer, chiropractor, GP, counsellor etc) get them to write a report as well how this impacts you
6. Go to the GP and tell them (again) how much you are struggling: physically, emotionally, mentally. This will be included on your GP records that you send. Also when you go to the GP request a social perscriber. They can help with a bunch of things including organising extra support, resources, you can mention them on your PIP, they can write reports and possibly help you with your renewal. 7. You can go on free AI websites (chatgpt and claude) explain about your PIP review, your symptoms, struggles etc and ask it to help refine your answers for your PIP review or things to add. Explain to it that you've been underscored in points in x catagories (it will have some self knowledge about PIP) and ask for suggestions to add or phrase things and then tweak it yourself. Just specify it's personal independent payments and you're in UK as it might initially suggest other things that initial pip.
8. I'm so sorry to hear that, it's not what we expected for our older age was it. Likewise, worked all my life. It's just awful what they're doing. We're easy targets and stuck between a rock and a hard place - they won't tax for their wealthy mates, so they go for vulnerable people 😠

An Update.

After many hours and countless phone calls, I have been advised by PIP that those that are receiving an ongoing award that you will not be affected by the 4 point rule until your soft touch review. Until this review is done you keep your current award. At review (soft touch) have it increased or decreased. The 4 point rule will have no effect until that review. In my case that is not until December 2027, over a year after the introduction of the 4 point rule. All that said, they did tell me that the 4 point rule will not be applied to anyone automatically and would only apply at reviews or new applications.

To be fair, the above is mentioned in the Green paper in regard to ongoing awards but is not very clear.

Is there anyone our there with real expertise who can advise on the Green Paper proposal for a Contribution based unemployment insurance benefit?

The Green Paper stared that would replace CB-JSA and CB-ESA for two years only.

I claim PIP and CB ESA. I'm not eligible for UC. After two years on the new benefit I'd be dependent on PIP alone. I couldnt scrape by. My savings would last long.

Looking on various sites there is conflict as to whether the new benefit is for new claimants or for all CB-ESA recipients.

We really need an expert answer.

53. Unemployment insurance would be a new non-means tested entitlement for people who have contributed into the system. It would be created by replacing contribution-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA) and Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) with a new single entitlement, paid at the current ESA rate (currently £138pw) and will be time-limited. This would provide stronger income protection during periods of unemployment for those with a recent work record, while revitalising the ‘something-for-something’ contributory principle in the working-age system. People claiming this would be expected to actively seek work, with easements for those with work-limiting health conditions.

54. Alongside levelling up the rate, this change would end the indefinite entitlement to contributory ESA for those assessed as having limited capability for work-related activity (for new people claiming). Those unemployed after the time-limited period would be able to claim UC, depending on their personal circumstances. We believe this reform would align with the removal of the WCA, by offering a route to financial support for those with temporary and short-term health conditions, including for those who may not be entitled to PIP and therefore not entitled to the health element of UC.
