this is standard practice for them imo . My first pip after being on DLA. Zero points , I got some from MR which apparently isnβt easy but they saw how much evidence I submitted. It went to 2nd tier taking two years . But itβs in my notes I will fight them ( not sure if it makes a difference though) . Did you fill forms yourself ? If you did you also need advice with the form. Also need help and supporting evidence for MR . Record assessment and tell them . In my experience these things first time is a real fight with many ppl regardless of condition. A lot of it is luck of who you get assessment day as bad as that is. But donβt give up thatβs what they want .

Never thought of taking a photo of my MRI that way I didnm request it but they come out with some waffle as to why I couldn't have it.
This site has alot of info and other fellow Chiarians
I was told mine was mild but none of my symptoms are mild so I'm not having that ! Prob is alot of neuros don't know much about it themselves .which is why I'm now speaking with kings . Hopefully you'll get somewhere with st Thomas's. Write down every little symptom that you have you'll be surprised how many issues a chiari can cause . My local hospital sent me away at first stating it was a migraine ! I couldn't even move I was in a horrific mess so I went there daily till they done MRIs . Iv had 2 now of my brain and had a recent one of spine . I wish you all the luck in the world and hope you get somewhere . I did try to drop you a message but couldn't but feel free to message me if needed .

yes she is bringing in mandatory recording of assessments. The cynic in me says this is legal protection for them not us . She knows full well they avoid giving anything over 4 points hence a new law stating we need 4 points . This means probably half of claimants that currently claim will have to go to tribunal. If itβs anything like when DLA moved to pip they will need to hire new buildings and train new staff including Drs and judges. This will offset their Β£5b . IMO of course

Yes, they are saying November 2026. I haven't had a clear enough focus over the past couple of days to thoroughly read the Green Paper and respond on the consultation. I'll be doing that over the weekend.
I will also be affected by the 4 point rule. I have points over five descriptors but only 2s and 3s.Let's continue to be strong and see what happens. I know it's difficult x

Yes I know that wondering when they change criteria

We all have every right to be extremely cynical about this. If this was about help or even a good-faith albeit foolish attempt to get people back into work they'd bring in a raft of measures to support people, support employers, include practical measure and bring in rights and legislation to give more proection to sick and disabled but they're not. One thing I would say it don't forget recording is a two way process and and protect you too even though it's not the intension.

Yours is very similar to mine although I didn't get a pic but I will next time I see them face to face my appt Monday is on phone for some reason . Maybe they will try telling me it's just mild again.
Have they stated if it descends on yours and by how many mm ? My first MRI literally just said "early stage chiari type " second MRI said a whole lot more ,said it was 4mm ,and I had brain sag (matches the rest of the body currently π)
