@sparrow77 I have told them they need to invest MASSIVELY in suicide prevention and psychological support well in advance of implementation of their punishment of the disabled and vulnerable.
I've also told them their 'plan' to return people to the workforce should also factor-in the hundreds of thousands of carers.
I asked too, why none of this was in their manifesto particularly given the determination and urgency with which they are attempting to enact this.

So do you think the reassess is before our award ends, if you just got 2pts in daily?

This is what it states on my partners PIP award and maybe explains what "Light touch" awards look like?
"I've looked at your claim and decided:I can award you the enhanced rates of £**** a week to help with your daily living needs from 8 November 2018 for an ongoing period
I can award you the enhanced rates of £**** a week to help with your mobility needs from 8 November 2018 for an ongoing period"
It then goes on about payment schedule and a few other bits but then mentions:
"We will also contact you while you're getting PIP to see if your needs have changed and to look into the amount you get, This will be after 12 September 2028"What is strange is that its not a full 10 years as it starts November 2018 but they wont contact again until after "nearly" 10 years later in the September 2028, so just less than 10 years?
Question I would like to ask is if you're on a light touch award do they contact you a year before like other awards or is it after the date specified on the award? Maybe someone with more knowledge can explain those two parts above?0 -

The Green Paper says that “There’s clear evidence that shows good work is good for health and plays a vital role in recovery.[footnote 1]”
Footnote refers to a report from 2006. The Cardiff researcher who co-wrote it worked for a department that was at the time, sponsored by UNUM.
https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/news/unum-bragged-about-driving-government-thinking-on-incapacity-benefit-reform
Also…"So they’re basing their decisions on a report which is 19 years out of date? Greattt!"

My wife is on the lowest living component of pip but is a state pensioner on indefinite award to be reviewed in 2031.Will she now get an early review after 2026 and Lose her award

Ah, mine doesn’t say ongoing but gives a date of until Dec 2034. Then goes on to say they won’t contact me until after Dec 2033. It could just be they’ve changed the wording. Who knows? I’m not convinced the DWP know either!

I never got reviewed on PIP (I’m in Scotland so I was switched to ADP before my award ended and then was reviewed on ADP instead) but yes this is completely normal. Renewal forms are generally sent out in advance, I’ve seen people getting them anywhere from 6 months to a year before their award is due to end. It doesn’t have anything to do with the changes and doesn’t mean you’ll lose your PIP before the award date given, it’s just so they have time to process it. But if they don’t get it done in time you’ll continue to get paid until they do and I believe they usually extend your award for a year if they haven’t made a decision when it ends x

What absolutely baffles me is the decision to just **** everything from certain groups of people and essentially leave them to it. Like people who don’t qualify for PIP, don’t qualify under the new rules, or only get the mobility part. Or 18-21 year olds. Stripping them of all support is meant to do… what, exactly? It’s blackmail. It genuinely is and it really scares me for these groups.
The other thing that particularly worries is thinking about young people who have been on DLA and are then left without any support until they’re 22. “Oh you’re too sick to work? Come back in three years, if you’re still alive by then that is!”
It will force people into homelessness, it will make people find themselves trapped in abusive relationships (as does joint UC claims), it will lead to vulnerable young people falling into prostitution or unsuitable work that will just make them iller.
This is going to be mass murder. I’m so angry. I’m going to do everything I can to fight it.6 -
They best drop that one wth nah this will be watered down

Oh know thier saying you can't respond to green paper online !!!!! Unbelievable

We'll just have to wait and hopefully the government will clarify and make it crystal clear what they intend to do.

It sounds like you’re light touch but I’m not. Ah well…..I’ll be in my 60’s before my next review so another 10 year award would take me over pension age. I have resigned myself to collecting evidence again

Yes its been lovely.

@sparrow77 The points you've stated I've also said in my response to the Green Paper. I responded by saying 'I hope they have social services/care plans/NHS on standby to pick up the pieces due to the fallout of this if this goes through'.

In other words, the representative authorities in your case did not help to solve your problems. This is also evident from this thread. So the declared functions of the representative authorities are fiction. Why then deal with them?
My very small, many years ago experience of working at the lowest level of local government has long strengthened my conviction about the uselessness of the election system for ordinary people.0 -
I'll try to post this PIP guide in a few days but I need to work on it a bit and unfortuntely all the news and stress re reforms has sent my CFS and ADHD into a tailspin and my body's crashed and now I'm coming down with a virus.
I'm going to have to rest for a few days or more, but I *will* try to post the PIP guide when I'm able and hopefully it will help people.
I know this is a really frightening time for us all, and we desperately want infomation and answers now but please remember this is going to be a slow process both for us and the government. We need to and must look after own health - physical, mental and emotional.
Please be kind, caring and compassionate to yourselves.

I don’t know. I’m not sure the decision maker was aware ongoing awards exist as she stated all PIP awards are given for fixed terms as circumstances might change. It was an MR decision (increased from 4 years to 10) so I’m taking it as a win anyway

Am surprised that not many healthy working class people have made a big fuss about the Benefits Cuts.
They do not realise that if they became ill in the future it would be impossible to live on this Benefit System which this nasty Party is bringing in.
