Don't know if this has been asked already, the thread is very fast moving, for obvious reasons. These proposed changes that they want to bring in, for example, the 4 point scoring, scrapping WCAs, needing PIP for UC Health Element, needing to be 22 for PIP and UC Health Element. Would all of these, IF brought forward, need agreement from House of Lords as well as receive Royal Assent?

I understand you got your pip for a few years so that's good I don't believe half of this will go through honestly 24 mps gone independent under starmer leadership alot of people in back ground doing so so much they wanted to be seen as the ones who changed welfare but they have broken alot of laws keep emailing mp other mps as well who cares if not our mp this is a wishlist not done with any care of our mental wellbeing they will be pulled over hot coals I really believe we will be ok everything be watered down they made it extreme because they knew that as for today rest your mind and body it's unattainable to live on fear day in day out I did I thought having a stroke I'd be worried normally but from what I read and seen this lot a bunch of clowns big big big hugs don't worry this will be resolved in time but will take time so do things to protect your mental health xx

Do you mean Rayner ? I watched as Kendall spoke of the cuts she intends to bring in during parliament and Rayner was sitting behind her nodding her head . Which if she agrees with this is disappointing as listened to her interview on bbc4(?) and she came across very well in regards to the disabled. Mentioning her mum’s disability and her sons . But then again so does Starmer when it serves a purpose.

So worried I just migrated from ESA support group to Universal Credit LCWRA now this, will it mean I will be migrated onto Universal Credit Health automatically as an existing claimant or will I be declared fir for work immediately in 2028? I know it's three years ahead but the worry is killing me

Although I'm worried about all of this happening I really don't think a lot of it will go through to become law.
I think it'll all be watered down and that new 4 point rule will be abandoned.
There will be changes but they probably wont be as bad as we think they'll be.
We seem to have a lot of people on our side now who don't agree with this government.

Even though the consultation has omitted asking direct questions on certain aspects (eg, do you think it is fair to fix qualification for PIP daily living at a 4 point criteria), I hope everyone remembers that it is still an open text box and you can include whatever information you like.
I filled it in answering every question with something relevant to what they were asking then gave them a couple of extra paragraphs of wider context of what claiming PIP is actually like and the impact of losing it for people in work, the burden on the healthcare system if people who cannot work lose their benefits and so on. Stuff they didn't ask for but which we are the best placed to know.
So even if you think the most important things aren't being consulted on, don't lose the opportunity to put those experiences in the consultation. The worst they can do is ignore it - but if it's not there, they can continue to pretend it doesn't exist.

Don't forget Labours relocation plans - they want to relocate all disabled people to a remote Scottish island - so they can keep us all together.

I was wondering if she put the new 4 point rule in as a bargaining chip, so she can compromise later and take it out if she comes under pressure from her MP's.
That's what they do sometimes when changing the rules and laws.
Watering some parts down to get other parts through.

Hi, how do you know if you are legacy esa or new style esa? I was changed to cb Esa around 2019 from long term incapacity benefit. Also does anyone know what is happening with indefinite dla to pip timeline now? Now I'm so stressed and worried I'm about to lose it all

If we are reassessed for lwcra will be under same criteria I'm the same noway I could go to job centre no way for some reason I feel calm was the same when sent pip form back I didn't even think of it and got paperbased goverments like to install terror I think they threw everything at the green paper in hope of some of it getting in speak to your sons doctor and say the effect its having on both your mental health I'm keeping a diary if it will be 3 years worth so be it they cannot do half of this it's very cruel I know exactly how you feel 2023 took me down I'm scared but not terrified wait till impact statement comes out 2 million people that's without thier cares thrown into poverty no way not happening they have broken all human rights thier proposals are wicked almost laughable I know it's hard it's really hard try not to over over think I say that because I do and it sends me down we are in the here and now these are proposals this has to go through stages and anyone can see it's a cost cutting discrimination at it's finest activists been dealing with DWP for years we have lawyers who are experts in welfare working along side charities unions the government been trying this for 30 years hold tight it's a rollercoaster but will be ok I really believe we will. Xx

Broke down crying now I am so low 😢

I said that claimants are going to rely heavily on the social care system, NHS and charities due to the fall out of this. It will cost the government more money in the long run if these proposals go ahead.

@Bigboblee50 and @Martinp Like you, I'm scared to death am am feeling very down. I'm trying to keep as "active" as possible. It's been a help to write to several parliamentarians and to complete the consultation.
Remember, too, that scarcely anyone loves this government. The Spring Statement will bring them more enemies. That can work for or against us. Be as proactive as you're able because, governments delight in dividing those they rule.
Remember to rest.
Love, Zipz

This is exactly the angle they need to see on the consultation.
I also mentioned that, because the Tories spent 15 years cutting services, thus making more of a burden on other aspects of the state. There are people who would not need benefits if their conditions had been supported sooner, but that didn't happen, and now they need support.
Also, the unpopularity of this government is actually something more worrying than positive. It's worrying because it means people have already forgotten what the Tories have spent years doing, or might even fall into Reform's trap and not realise they want rid of all equality legislation. As I said before, this is a mess, but unless we can get a Lib/Green govt in power, it is still the best option for disabled people. Grim as it is, we are better off with this mess which might yet be changed than with Whately "do more damage!" and Farage "no more welfare benefits!".
Please everyone do remember that. Whatever Labour are doing, there are worse options we could sleepwalk into at the next election if we're not on the ball.5 -
I think he was being satirical. He wasn't being serious.
