    I had a look at the points i was rewarded on my current pip, I don’t have the ‘mixing with people’ unless I didn’t get points for that, I do have points for engaging with people face to face is that the same as it sounds the same

    @JasonRA

    I'm sorry 🙏 to hear that you've had such a bad night.

    You must feel powerless to do anything but that doesn't need to be the case. 😊

    Have you heard of Disabled People Against Cuts? 🤔

    They organised the big protest in London recently that was all over the media against these wicked proposals. 💪

    🔗 https://dpac.uk.net/

    Also, are you aware of Benefits and Work? I've been a member for years and I don't know where I would be without their expert benefit guides. I can't recommend them enough to give you a proper chance to submit the best evidence you can when you get your next assessment.

    🔗 https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/

    They both have campaigns to submit evidence, directly to parliament so you can tell them how the proposals will affect you as a disabled person and more you can take part in besides.

    DPAC is £2 a year for membership and B&W is £20. You can sign up for their newsletters whether you're a member or not.

    I do hope that you will consider having a look into them both if you have not been aware of them. Good Luck. 🤞 🍀 😊

    Yes they are the same :)

    I’ve heard both being used, but it’s the exact same thing.

    I was denied PIP in 2014 , I got 4 points for mixing with people as i wear dark glasses and cannot look people in the eye .

    I was awarded PIP in 2023 and put the same thing down and got 2 points , this shows me that different assessors have got no clue at all and just tick a number that they see fit .

    I think that every single claimant who has been assessed with less than 4 points in a single category should apply for a reassessment (what have they got to lose ?) - when these 100,000's applications hit their inbox - they will not be able to cope with the numbers and these reassessments will take decades to churn through ? I liked to think that those claimants would be left with their present benefit levels until they are reassessed - because any delays will be their fault rather than the claimants fault.

    And as for the reason for the reassessment request - "Mental Anguish caused by DWP changing the rules"

    I think you're doing brilliantly Cath. It's torture isn't it? But like you said, we can't let them win. Today the gutter press are going on about people with thousands in savings can claim disability benefits. As if to say how greedy we are.

    I don't see why not - a review is supposed to be a chance to tell DWP of any changes

    @Danny123

    Firstly, I do hope that everything continues to go well for your Mum. 🤞👍

    Thank you for asking if we are all OK. In my case, as good as I can be under the circumstances. You're right that we cannot dwell on this all the time, it's the only way to cope and keep ourselves sane.

    You must feel powerless to do anything about the situation but that doesn't need to be the case. There is more that you can do than you think.😊

    @bton1968

    Well, you can't exactly contest the 2 point descriptors as she is having an assessment, not going through to appeal but I know what you mean. 😊

    My suggestion for getting your wife the maximum chance of 4 points in a least one DL descriptor is, I don't know if you've heard of them, but I am a member of Benefits and Work, the link is

    https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/

    I've been with them for many years and don't honestly know what I would have done without them. I'm sure that I wouldn't have my two 4 pointers in DL, in preparing a meal and mixing with people, that's for sure. If your wife, or yourself, on her behalf become a member it's only £20 a year. You will get the benefit guides and news and will be able to sign up for their newsletter.

    I hope that might help you both. 👍
