It seems to have started with that letter signed by Corbyn but I’ve never seen anything from the government to say it is . What don’t understand is how he can rush it through in a day , isnt it against the rules ? He simply doesn’t listen to people.

Tuesday 1 July—Second Reading of the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill.
Wednesday 9 July—Committee of the whole House and remaining stages of the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill.
Lucy Powell said when questioned about the welfare Bill,
'As I have just announced to the House, the Second Reading of the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill will take place next Tuesday, and the remaining stages of the Bill will take place on the Floor of the House the following week. I want to reassure colleagues that we take parliamentary scrutiny and the process of Bills extremely seriously. That is what our parliamentary democracy is all about: Bills are introduced; principles are considered at Second Reading; and the details receive robust debate and discussion, and are often amended in Committee, before we consider Third Reading. As the House would expect, the Government actively engage with parliamentary opinion throughout a Bill’s passage, as we are doing intensively with the Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment Bill.'

Wonder what the concessions are . They refused the first lot so maybe he has given in a lot just to save himself 🤞. It did say something about multiple conditions

The proof is in the pudding, at the end of the day the point of this bill is to spitefully cut benefits.

Very much doubt the concessions will be in our favour. Probably more job coaches.

There is still a chance the vote might not get through on tuesday, the conservatives will probably more likley to vote down the bill now.
However i wonder what these ''significant changes'' are.
It would be better if it was scrapped but i hope they not gone with the 3 point rule with pip

It said something about multiple conditions, I’ve never heard anything mentioned about that before.
What I don’t understand is if disability benefits is at £52 billion a year and the 4 point rule almost wipes out standard plus 13% on enhanced how does that only add up to £5 billion

I bet anything all the main things like the 4 point rule won't have been scrapped, it didn't need consessions, it needed to be scrapped entirely, he was apparently shouting at rebels earlier like a spoilt kid, he's a nasty, evil bully who's got his own way, god knows what else he will do now he knows mp's will always back down. Labour are finished for good, there is no coming back from this for them' Liz Kendall will have her smug look back on her face tonight, I hate the lot of them.
