I want it all to go away

It usually takes a few weeks, and is sorted before the first payment. Occasionally I have seen it take a bit longer.

When you claim by phone you’ll get a monthly statement by post - and I do like the idea of this. You don’t get them on ESA. Obviously, I want to get paid twice a month - NOT just once a month.

I don’t rule anything out when I move across, particularly if they don’t address the issues that are happening right now for those on ESA that are migrating across. I’ll be calling that helpline every so often to ask if they have those all-important details from ESA on their servers. It’s that important that they get those details so the payments can be calculated how they should be.

What a farce this whole migration process is. It’s not fit for purpose, yet they want all ESA claimants to all move across to it. Sort out the issues then DWP. It’s alright acknowledging that there are issues, sort them out. You want us to all migrate. Sort it out.
ESA claimants that have been unlucky enough to get a letter already, some will have had right stress and issues.

I know it's awful dreading it

I don’t want a letter this year. They can make me wait until the year 2025 - just to see if they can address the issues that they are aware of. I wouldn’t hold your breath, however. This is the DWP after all. Words are words and actions are actions.

They shouldn’t be asking for fit notes when they’re not needed, they shouldn’t be making the claimant feel like another WCA has to be carried out when that’s not required either. An absolute farce of a system.

That would be unbearable

They need to some serious fixing 🧰⛏️⚒️ Catherine, ESA claimants shouldn’t be asked to do anything that that’s not technically part of the migration process. This is the DWP, though. Wouldn’t trust them as far as I could throw them Catherine.
It isn’t any wonder that I don’t wish to see a letter this year. The longer they take, the ABSOLUTE better.

Oh agree everyday it doesn't come is a blessing

I know my bank account will appreciate more money landing in it. I will be better off, that’s a fact. I acknowledge that. I should get my payments twice monthly as well even if is the DWP we are talking about😂😂🤣🤣.

Are you in support group

As a vulnerable autistic who has never been able to budget sufficiently I don’t see how they could reach so low and reject my APA request. SURELY SURELY they’ll be understanding of the issues I have with budgeting and just grant it, giving me payment every 14-17 days. They can’t be awkward with me - they’d be messing around with the wrong individual. No-one who doesn’t know me can make me accept a monthly pay day. When I’m on that twice monthly, I NEED to stay on it as well. More frequent payments RULE. Monthly pay, never for me.

They’re just terribly annoying what they’re subjecting claimants to who have been unlucky and already got a letter. I am in no rush to be part of a cruel, sickening migration process. Asking for fit notes that aren’t needed, making claimants feel like they have to have another WCA. ❌❌❌
I really take notice of the bad stories - this is happening to claimants. The bad stories can’t be ignored.
Let’s just see if they can iron out the issues before my turn … which has to come in 2025 and not a moment sooner.0 -

I'm the same I do not know how to budget I would spend all in a week seriously they will see from my statements no order no routine no impulse control terrible with money

The standard allowance for being 25 and over and the LCRWA element - the current monthly amount is £809.64. That pays more than what I get from the ESA Support Group and enhanced disability premium, £318.10, every two weeks. I just need to get payments more frequently as you know by now 🤣🤣🤣😉😉😉.

I don't even understand the payments I'm so dyslexic it's All muddly I understand noting it's getting worse

This is the problem with having a lump sum sitting in front of you in your bank account, it’s tempting to spend it fast and a month is an awfully long time to stretch £809.64 or £823.41*.
*it’ll be rising to that amount from next April for someone who’s getting the standard allowance for being 25 or over and in receipt of the Limited Capability for Work Related Activity element.
Gaps between payments is just as important as ANY AMOUNT RECEIVED.
