DWP are not responsible for Council Tax

It still seems like they are not in the country thought generally. They cant even get their letters and a phone nobody answers. Looks like they have the phone and they wont pickup because it will kill the balance.

Who goes abroad and leaves their phone back? That doesn't scan.

Its just a strange situation as a whole.

They did mention they are in Turkey and their father has just passed away. They also mentioned that they told DWP that they were out of the country and they went in September, without their husband at first, he then joined her later in the month. All noted here..

DWP were informed when we were abroad. Ie , the carers department and also PIP. My husband was not with us as he was unwell to travel. He travelled at a later date. Whilst he was at home he received calls from IAS but he’s unable to communicate as he has problems with his memory and due to his brain injury whilst back. His carer at the time was my cousin who was unable to talk to IAS as he was working.
Later on in the month in September he joined me abroad in Turkey.
    Everything is above board
    hope this helps

@Deppi now i really am confused as to why you've brought up the report in this thread because no one has mentioned it at all.

We don't even know the reason why their PIP is stopping on 30th November. As i said a few times, if there's been a refusal after the review it makes no sense for the PIP to stop several weeks later. After a refusal it stops on that date.

I'm not going to go into my thoughts about the report in this thread. Before doing anything else they need to read the letters to find out exactly what's happened. Until that is done no one can give any further advice.

I'm sorry for your loss and that you're having to deal with all this while going through such a difficult time.

Given the complexity  and confusion of the issue I'd recommend you contact Citizen's advice as soon as you get back to the UK. You can find your nearest one here. They should be able to go through the letters and other contact you've had with the DWP, perhaps contact the DWP with you as well, to try and understand what is going on.

Hello everyone and once again, thank you in advance for the ongoing support. We did call PIP from abroad and finally they have said, it is an ongoing award. They have sent a letter confirming that. We will be back home on Saturday 27 October 2023.

That's fantastic news. I'm so glad to hear that there was indeed some confusion with regarding the new decision, which was as i thought. Thank you for coming back to update the thread, it's very much appreciated.

So very pleased to hear from you again @dominique2 - tho sorry you've not been well.
The award letter will say, 'your PIP  award is now for an ongoing period and has no end date.' Then it will say we will review how much help you need 10 years after your PIP was last awarded, & then around what date they will write to you, if your letter is anything like mine.
So that's one less worry for you, & at least as far as PIP goes you couldn't get a better award. Thank you very much for your update.

Great that it is indeed an ongoing (10 year) award @dominique2 - hope you are both keeping well.
