@HollisMcBobbery (love the username, btw!)
General rant incoming ….
If even half of those two million the politicians think should be at work, that number would need to increased by approx. 40-50% to take into account unpaid carers who support us.
Let's call it three million. From where the freaking heck are employers going to magic up three million jobs?? Particularly as AI becomes more entrenched in the workplace. That's before considering the who knows how many additional health & care staff that will be require to be recruited to offer this 'personalised' support to the two million rejoining the workforce. New 'recruits' from benefit claimants are extremely unlikely to be the specialist medical/psychological/psychiatric staff who will be required to provide this.
From my own perspective, over decades of working with a hidden disability, whilst employers were onboard with making (some) adjustments to accommodate my condition, the resentment from colleagues, towards those accommodations and me, was personalised, horrendous, humiliating, and ultimately exacerbated my condition.
Should jobs even be found for us, I don't think anyone has identified it is not only employers who need to be educated and supportive but colleagues also. Or, if colleagues cannot be supportive, at least there should be some mechanism whereby disabled people can leave such environments without punitive action from DWP.
Ultimately, Labour will, once again, become the "Party That Isn't Working" as the unemployed figures balloon.
We'll have come full circle since they introduced disability benefits as a means of massaging their then horrendous unemployment figures.
Bottom line for me is I'm too old for their games. Between now and the sh*t hitting the fan, I'm making plans to ensure I and my disabled relatives can live (together if necessary) with as much dignity as possible in our final years.

In the sun today
“Rachel Reeves will use Labour's monster majority to face down welfarerebels”
“RACHEL Reeves has vowed to use Labour’s monster majority to secure welfare reforms as she declared the total spend on benefits is “morally indefensible and economically damaging”.

I want to end this I can't do this 😢

councils are panicking apparently as the lose of pip means the lose of carers allowance. Local councils will have to take over the caring of ppl as their carers are forced to work. Something they either didn’t think about or just don’t care

32×4.35p so much for transitional protection that's over a hundred pounds lost

Thinking of you all. Just watched that ghastly excuse for a human being prattling on about how everyone will have improved quality of life by 2030.

Hi Albus, it’s unbelievable to think this could possibly become law . Nit just to lose pip but lcwra too . So our only option is to engage with a work coach but what will they do for ppl they can see clearly can’t work. They will basically be no category for us . Surely denying shelter food etc for long term sick and disabled is against human rights laws. I read in comments earlier on a YouTube channel that the ECHR don’t really protect disabled ppl . Is that true ? I think it would be helpful if scope posted an explanation of the voting system for this and how we are protected in law through the courts plus how long these procedures could possibly delay the laws . I personally think MPs will do whatever they’re told by Starmer as they don’t want to lose the whip . Court could be are only saviour . But I don’t think there’s enough information regarding the courts to put my mind at rest .

Daily mail today showing reeves trying to do bricklaying for her scheme of apprenticeships
She's so gross throwing her head back and laughing . Despicable woman especially at what she's done to us
3 -
if it goes to the echr I can’t see Starmer ignoring that . I can’t remember who but one minister I’m sure said in regards to immigration that they won’t go against the echr. So it wouldn’t look good if they ignored the echr when it suits them .

There will be a different category for severely disabled people. If you are too disabled to work, don't worry!

There needs to be a vote of no confidence due to the lies during the election, for one starmer said council tax would be freezed there’s a lie for a start
1 -
That's my understanding all existing lcwra by 2028 must engage regularly with a work coach only the most severely ill exempt as only pip style assessment which is tougher will give any additional protection so suddenly many people right now lcwra suddenly miraculously healed

I watched a film recently where evil ppl were found mummified behind a bricked up wall . Your comment just reminded me of that .

but who decides if we are too disabled to work ? The assessors who lie ? Work coaches with no medical experience? It’s all open to interpretation. What protection is there for pip who fail pip as most do at some stage ?

I should of looked out for Rachel in the credits, something else in her CV

my comment would of seemed rather random if you didn’t see the comment I was replying to Catherine 😂. I just realised that .

You could write to members of the Committee for Work and pensions instead. The members are listed here:
https://committees.parliament.uk/committee/164/work-and-pensions-committee/membership/
Write to members as individual MPs rather than to the Committee.
Thankyou Zipz….
Please,
- what is the Committee for Works and Pensions exactly.
2. I was told by local mps before that you can ONLY write to your own mp?
Thanks for any advice anyone and good luck to all, hope you are ok x

That won't happen. It would require most Labour MPs to go against their leader, which they won't do. Most Labour MPs—especially new ones—are loyalist doormats.
which is also ironic as that scheme will fail too because most abled British people simply don't want to do bricklaying and similar manual jobs. The pay is ****, they offer minimal career progression. Moreover, manual labour jobs will wreck people's bodies and force an early retirement (and given governments keep raising the retirement age, effectively forces people into destitution in their middle age).
The only way ableds, especially British people, will take up apprenticeships like bricklaying is through abuse and coercion. The same techniques the Tories use against disabled people.

That's a select committee is one of many governmental bodies made up of MPs across all parties meant to scrutinise government policies. Their webpage is here:
Work and Pensions Committee - Summary - Committees - UK Parliament
As for writing to MPs, you can write to any MP - they can't stop you from doing so. However, only your local MP can take on your case on your constituency level. If you write to any other MP, they are allowed to not respond.
However, in cases like select committees or ministers, you are allowed to contact them in that capacity if they're not your local MP.
