    Hi juls,

I just saw on another site a quote from a newspaper possibly the times regarding the 4 point rule. It said one tweak they’re looking at is anyone who gets a high enough score but not a 4 could still get pip . It said that would mean about 200,00 still eligible. The numbers on enhanced that don’t get the 4 points is 209,00. So I think they started off with the intention of scrapping standard rate but leaving 13% who get 4 points alone . Now suddenly there’s talk of “helping” everyone on enhanced keep pip whether or not they get a 4 points . Seems like an extra step towards scrapping standard rate to me . Though my MEs bad right now so I may not be making any sense 😂. If up to it tmrw I’ll look for that report from foi regarding the pip points and breakdown of who gets the 4 . I’ll send it to some MPs so they know it’s 87% set to lose out , not 10% as they’re being told .

the head of reform was on sky news today talking about what cuts would they implement.

No mention of disability cuts at all once again.

Whichever party supports the proposed disability cuts are done for at the next general election.

    Reform and Tories know that.

Are Liebour aware of it too?

"I'm also sad to hear that you are amongst the few with the enhanced DL rate who doesn't have 4 points in any one question."

She's NOT among the few with enhanced Daily Living component who haven't scored 4pts on a single descriptor, but among the overwhelming majority, as the DWP data indicates that only a small percentage of existing PIP claimants, around 6-7%, have scored 4 points on a single descriptor.

Therefore, she's far from being among a few.

It's commonly agreed among claimants who have ever gone through assessments that the outcomes of these assessments (WCA and PIP) mainly depend on the assessor and the DWP's decision makers themselves, rather than the assessments and claimants' health conditions.

    • Labour: 404 MPs

    They've currently got 403 and not 404.

Where have you got the MP you've added to my figure?

I think there’s a foi regarding the 4 points and it broke down who gets a 4 point . From what I read it said 13% of those on enhanced don’t get 4 point and 83% on standard don’t . I just read that if implemented the tweak to enable those on an overall high score to claim pip without 4 points would amount to 200,00 still awarded pip . The amount on enhanced without a 4 point is 209,00

I believe the DWP saying now that "13% (209,000) get fewer than 4 points in all activities." is simply intended to calm people down by lying to them, because the 6-7% figure was officially released by the DWP itself following the release of the Green Paper.

The DWP is known for its culture of lying, secrecy, and providing conflicting informations.

So that would mean instead of accepting 13% a pass without 4? points it’s only 6-7% . In other words majority on enhanced were mostly never going to be affected. But what are the figures for standard as it’s that I think they’re trying to abolish. It’s interesting what you say as my last assessment was two years ago and I can see how I was steered away from scoring a 4? Point but my award was increased. Was that so I wouldn’t appeal ?

You can ask on this forum how many people have scored 4 points on one descriptor, and you would find out that there are not many.

Those figures true or not just reflect the current situation and not what's to come up.

You shouldn't worry at all about not having scored 4 points on a descriptor, as it doesn't say anywhere that claimants would keep their previous points upon reassessments. So many people have already seen their previous points downgraded or lost altogether upon reassessment. The same has been happening with people on LCWRA. So many people have lost their LCWRA or have been downgraded to LCW upon reassessment.

As for what will happen to the "Standard Rate" of the PIP, it seems to be a mystery!

What about people who score, say 4pts on a descriptor and pass their PIP, would they also need to go through another assessment based on PIP assessment to qualify for LCWRA, which would be called by then "Health Element of the UC"!

To me, even the DWP do not have answers to all these questions and confusion, as all their focus and intention are to cut benefits to as many sick and disabled people as possible.

According to Whatdotheyknow (the FOI site) - As of January 2025, 54% of people in receipt of the PIP daily living allowance scored a minimum of 4 points.

    of 3.7 million total

So - 46% of claimants get fewer than 4 points in daily living !

That's 1.7 Million - who the government want to stop paying.

Apologies, It was AI, but I asked it to fact check it, it was wrong, I looked on Gov.uk site and it said 403, won't be using that again!! Labour will hopefully lose a few more seats very soon (to add to my already cofused state) and get rid of Starmer & Co. Sorry for the unintentional mix up, I'll fact check it myself first next time😊

    Hi Charlie,

I think this whole situation is confusing. All different information put out there , even that only 10% of us will be affected. My heads so overloaded right now I’m fatigued and in pain with it all . I certainly wouldn’t put money on any information I share as we never know the real truth , the DWP and Labour won’t allow it x
