General rant incoming ….

If even half of those two million the politicians think should be at work, that number would need to increased by approx. 40-50% to take into account unpaid carers who support us.

Let's call it three million. From where the freaking heck are employers going to magic up three million jobs?? Particularly as AI becomes more entrenched in the workplace. That's before considering the who knows how many additional health & care staff that will be require to be recruited to offer this 'personalised' support to the two million rejoining the workforce. New 'recruits' from benefit claimants are extremely unlikely to be the specialist medical/psychological/psychiatric staff who will be required to provide this.

From my own perspective, over decades of working with a hidden disability, whilst employers were onboard with making (some) adjustments to accommodate my condition, the resentment from colleagues, towards those accommodations and me, was personalised, horrendous, humiliating, and ultimately exacerbated my condition.

Should jobs even be found for us, I don't think anyone has identified it is not only employers who need to be educated and supportive but colleagues also. Or, if colleagues cannot be supportive, at least there should be some mechanism whereby disabled people can leave such environments without punitive action from DWP.

Ultimately, Labour will, once again, become the "Party That Isn't Working" as the unemployed figures balloon.

We'll have come full circle since they introduced disability benefits as a means of massaging their then horrendous unemployment figures.

Bottom line for me is I'm too old for their games. Between now and the sh*t hitting the fan, I'm making plans to ensure I and my disabled relatives can live (together if necessary) with as much dignity as possible in our final years.

AbsolAbsolute dread is consuming me I only just migrated to UC LCWRA a long wait first payment April 23 no idea how little it would be as someone taking pity left me 14k so they are bound to punish me for that. Only just migrated and no matter what they rename it UC Health plan throwing me off in 3 to 4 years one small crumb of comfort I will be nearer pension then but still. I want to end this I can't do this 😢

Hi Albus, it’s unbelievable to think this could possibly become law . Nit just to lose pip but lcwra too . So our only option is to engage with a work coach but what will they do for ppl they can see clearly can’t work. They will basically be no category for us . Surely denying shelter food etc for long term sick and disabled is against human rights laws. I read in comments earlier on a YouTube channel that the ECHR don’t really protect disabled ppl . Is that true ? I think it would be helpful if scope posted an explanation of the voting system for this and how we are protected in law through the courts plus how long these procedures could possibly delay the laws . I personally think MPs will do whatever they’re told by Starmer as they don’t want to lose the whip . Court could be are only saviour . But I don’t think there’s enough information regarding the courts to put my mind at rest .

if it goes to the echr I can’t see Starmer ignoring that . I can’t remember who but one minister I’m sure said in regards to immigration that they won’t go against the echr. So it wouldn’t look good if they ignored the echr when it suits them .

There needs to be a vote of no confidence due to the lies during the election, for one starmer said council tax would be freezed there’s a lie for a start

You could write to members of the Committee for Work and pensions instead. The members are listed here:

That's a select committee is one of many governmental bodies made up of MPs across all parties meant to scrutinise government policies. Their webpage is here:

As for writing to MPs, you can write to any MP - they can't stop you from doing so. However, only your local MP can take on your case on your constituency level. If you write to any other MP, they are allowed to not respond.

However, in cases like select committees or ministers, you are allowed to contact them in that capacity if they're not your local MP.
